WHAT IS GUARDIANSHIP?
We occasionally have guardian home opportunities available. Guardian homes allow us to grow our program and bring new genetics in to our corgis without overcrowding, with our dogs' happiness at the forefront of our priorities. We went several years without having any dogs in guardian homes, but as we have allowed a couple of dogs enter guardianship, we have really seen the benefits for the dogs. They get one-on-one love and attention that they might get less of otherwise.
Guardianship is a fantastic opportunity for a family or person to become the permanent home for a puppy or young adult corgi for very little cost. As of now, we only allow our females to go out on guardianship. After the guardianship period (3-5 years old), we spay the female, at our cost, and her full ownership rights are transferred to you for retirement.

HOW DOES GUARDIANSHIP WORK?
When the female comes in to heat, we bring her here for around two weeks to breed her. She then will go back home to you until she is ready to have her babies. She'll stay here to have and raise her babies for 6-8 weeks and then go back home.
All of the breeding related expenses are on us, but all normal pet expenses (vaccines, yearly exams, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, etc.) are on you. She must be kept on the food that we feed for the duration of the guardianship.

DO YOU QUALIFY?
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR GUARDIANSHIP, YOU HAVE TO MEET ALL OF THESE REQUIREMENTS:
- Reside within 150 miles of Anderson, California OR be willing to drive farther for custody exchanges
- Must have NO intact male dogs in the home
- Must have a fenced yard or ranch-type space
- She must be kept UTD on vaccines, heart worm prevention, and yearly exams.
- Must agree to our terms with signed contract
